Privacy Policy

Effective date: 30 September 2026 · Published by Muhammad Yahya Aslam · Contact: m.yahyaaslamofficial@gmail.com

This policy explains what PaisaBol does with your information. It is written to be read, not to be impressive. Where something leaves your phone, we say so.

The short version
  • Your money data — transactions, budgets, goals — is stored on your phone, encrypted. We have no server, so we never receive it.
  • Voice is different. When you speak to PaisaBol, the audio is sent to your phone's speech service (on most Android phones, Google's) to be turned into text. That audio is handled by Google, not by us.
  • If you would rather no audio left your phone, type your transactions instead. Everything in PaisaBol can be entered by typing.
  • The app shows ads through Google AdMob. AdMob collects your device's Advertising ID, your IP address (which can show your general location), how you interact with the app and its ads, and basic performance diagnostics — for ads, analytics and fraud prevention.
  • There is no password recovery and no sign-in on a second device.
  • Uninstalling PaisaBol deletes your data.

1. Who we are

PaisaBol is published by Muhammad Yahya Aslam. You can reach us at m.yahyaaslamofficial@gmail.com. PaisaBol is a personal finance app for Android, available to users worldwide.

2. We do not run a server

PaisaBol has no backend, no user database and no cloud account. Our own code makes no network requests. There is no PaisaBol server for your financial data to be sent to, and no account of yours exists anywhere except on your phone.

Two pieces of software bundled in the app do talk to Google: the Google AdMob advertising SDK, and your phone's speech recognition service. Both are described below. We mention this plainly because saying "PaisaBol sends no data" would be misleading. PaisaBol itself sends none. Those two Google components do.

We do not sell your financial information, and we do not use your financial records for our own marketing. There is no mechanism by which we could: your transactions, udhar records, budgets and goals are encrypted on your own device with a key we do not hold, and the app sends none of it anywhere. We have no copy to sell, share or advertise against.

3. Your money data stays on your phone

Stored only in PaisaBol's own storage on your device:

This data is encrypted on disk using AES-256-GCM. The encryption key is generated on your device and held by the Android Keystore. It is never included in a backup, never sent anywhere, and never written into our logs. We never receive any of it, and could not hand it to anyone if asked, because we do not have it.

What the PIN does, and does not do

Your PIN and fingerprint/face unlock control access to the app's screens. Encryption of the file itself is protected by the key in the Android Keystore. These are two separate mechanisms. A four-digit PIN has only ten thousand possible values, so we do not use it as an encryption key and do not claim it as one.

What is not encrypted

StoredWhy it is not encrypted
Your theme (light/dark)Read before the app draws, to avoid a white flash
A diagnostic on/off flagContains no data about you
A "signed in at" timestampContains only a time — no name, email or identifier

4. Voice — audio leaves your phone

This is the most important thing in this policy. When you hold the PaisaBol bubble and speak, your audio is sent to your phone's speech recognition service — on most Android phones, Google's — to be turned into text.

We have confirmed this on a real device. Whether a given phone transcribes on-device or over the network is decided by that phone's speech service and its installed language packs — not by PaisaBol. On the device we tested, the offline language pack was not installed and the online recogniser was used.

If you do not want your audio leaving your phone, do not use the voice feature. Every transaction can be entered by typing instead — use "Add Expense" or "Add Income", or "Use text instead" on the voice screen. Typing sends no audio anywhere. We are not able to force your phone to transcribe offline, so we do not offer a setting that pretends to.

5. Advertising (Google AdMob)

PaisaBol is free and funded by ads. There is no subscription, no paid tier and no way to pay to remove ads.

Ads are served by Google AdMob. To do that, the AdMob SDK connects to Google's servers and automatically collects:

Google uses this for advertising, analytics and fraud prevention, and it is sent encrypted (TLS). It is collected by Google, not by us, under Google's privacy policy and described in Google's own disclosure.

Ads appear on the Home, Transactions, Calendar, Insights, Budgets, Goals and Profile screens. Ads never appear on the sign-in, sign-up, PIN lock, onboarding or welcome screens, and never during voice input.

6. Camera and photos

If you take a profile photo with the camera, PaisaBol asks for camera access at that moment. If you pick one from your gallery, Android's photo picker opens and shares only the one photo you choose — PaisaBol has no permission to see the rest of your photos. The photo is stored inside your encrypted data on this phone and is never uploaded.

7. Exporting your data

You can export from Settings → Data → Export as PDF or CSV.

Restore. Settings → Data → Restore reads a JSON backup file. JSON is no longer offered as an export option, so this is for a backup made by an earlier version of the app, or one you produced yourself. Restoring replaces what is currently in the app. The file is read on your device and is not uploaded anywhere.

Exported files are not encrypted. They are ordinary, readable files. This is deliberate: a backup has to be readable on a different device, which will not have your phone's encryption key. Once you send an export somewhere, anyone who opens it can read your financial data. Keep exports somewhere private.

Where an exported file goes is entirely your choice, made in the Android share sheet. PaisaBol does not upload it anywhere.

8. Accounts, passwords and recovery

Your PaisaBol account exists only on the phone where you created it.

We say this plainly so it is not a surprise later. Please export a backup while you can still get in.

9. Children

PaisaBol is not directed at children and should not be used by anyone under 13. We do not knowingly collect information from children. Because we operate no server, we hold no such information to remove.

10. Deleting your data

Because your data never reaches us, there is nothing for you to request that we delete. Full instructions are in Deleting Your Data.

One technical caveat, stated honestly: Android may keep deleted database pages on disk until it compacts its storage files. Reinstalling PaisaBol is the only way to be certain nothing remains.

11. Permissions the app asks for

PermissionWhy
MicrophoneVoice entry. Only while you hold the button
Modify audio settingsRequired alongside the microphone to open an audio input
InternetNeeded by Google AdMob and by your phone's speech service. PaisaBol's own code makes no network calls
CameraOnly if you take a profile photo
Photos / mediaNot requested. The gallery opens Android's photo picker, which shares only the photo you choose
Advertising IDUsed by Google AdMob to serve ads
Location / GPSNot requested. The app declares no location permission at all

Location — we do not ask for it

PaisaBol does not use GPS or location services to determine your country. You choose your country yourself during setup, from a list, and you can change it later in Settings. The app declares no location permission, contains no location code, and does not infer your country from your IP address, your SIM or your carrier.

Google AdMob, which serves the ads, does receive your IP address, which can show your general area (city or region). That is Google's collection, described in section 5 — PaisaBol itself never reads or uses it.

12. If you are in the EEA, the UK or Switzerland

Who is responsible. The controller for any personal data PaisaBol handles is Muhammad Yahya Aslam, reachable at m.yahyaaslamofficial@gmail.com.

What is processed, and on what basis.

Changing your mind. You can change or withdraw your ad consent at any time in Profile → Privacy & data → Your ad privacy choices.

Your rights. You have the right to access, correct, delete and export your personal data, to restrict or object to its processing, and to withdraw consent. Because your PaisaBol data exists only on your phone, you can do most of this yourself: view and edit it in the app, export it from Settings → Data, or erase it with Profile → Erase all data. For data Google collects through AdMob or speech recognition, see Google's privacy policy. You can also write to us at the email above.

Transfers. Data collected by Google may be processed outside your country; Google describes its safeguards in its privacy policy.

Complaints. You have the right to complain to your local data protection authority.

13. Changes to this policy

If this policy changes we will update the effective date above and publish the new version at https://yahya0347.github.io/paisabol-legal/. If a change means data starts leaving your device in a way it did not before, we will say so clearly rather than quietly editing a line.

Terms of Service

Effective date: 30 September 2026 · Published by Muhammad Yahya Aslam · Contact: m.yahyaaslamofficial@gmail.com

By installing or using PaisaBol you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please uninstall the app.

1. What PaisaBol is

PaisaBol is a personal finance app for Android. You record what you spend and earn, by typing or by speaking, and the app organises it into categories, budgets and goals. It runs entirely on your phone. There is no PaisaBol account server, no cloud sync and no online dashboard.

2. It is free, and it stays free

Every feature is included. There is no subscription, no premium tier, no paid unlock and no feature held back behind a payment. The app is funded by advertising.

3. Your data is your responsibility

Exported files are not encrypted and can be read by anyone who opens them. Once you send an export somewhere, protecting it is up to you.

4. Accounts

Your account exists only on the device where you created it. There is no password reset, no sign-in on another device, and no sync between devices. You are responsible for keeping your password and PIN safe. Both are stored only as one-way hashes — we could not tell you what they are even if you asked.

5. Voice input

PaisaBol can turn speech into a transaction by asking your phone's speech recognition service to transcribe your audio. On most Android phones that service is Google's, and your audio is sent to Google's servers.

6. Advertising

PaisaBol shows ads through Google AdMob. By using the app you accept that ads will be displayed and that Google's AdMob SDK uses your device's Advertising ID to serve them. We do not send your financial data to advertisers. We do not control which ads Google serves, and showing an ad is not an endorsement.

7. PaisaBol is not financial advice

PaisaBol is a record-keeping tool. It is not a bank, not a payment service and not a financial adviser.

You are responsible for the accuracy of what you enter. Amounts recognised from speech may be wrong.

8. Acceptable use

Please do not use PaisaBol for anything unlawful; attempt to break, reverse-engineer or tamper with the app's encryption in order to reach another person's data; or use the app on a device that is not yours without permission.

9. No warranty

PaisaBol is provided "as is", without warranties of any kind. We do not promise that the app will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that voice recognition, categorisation or calculations will always be correct. Voice and ads depend on Google services we do not control.

10. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Muhammad Yahya Aslam is not liable for loss of data (including through a forgotten password or PIN, an uninstall, or a device failure, loss or theft); financial loss or decisions made in reliance on the app; anything arising from an export file you created and shared; or indirect, incidental or consequential damages of any kind. Nothing here limits liability that cannot be limited under the law that applies to you.

11. Changes

We may update the app and these terms. The current version will always be at https://yahya0347.github.io/paisabol-legal/. Continuing to use PaisaBol after a change means you accept the updated terms. We may also stop publishing the app; a copy already installed will keep working, but please keep exporting backups.

12. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws applicable to Muhammad Yahya Aslam. PaisaBol is offered to users worldwide, subject to applicable local laws and regulations. Local consumer-protection rights that you cannot legally waive are unaffected by anything in this document.

Deleting Your Data

Effective date: 30 September 2026 · Published by Muhammad Yahya Aslam · Contact: m.yahyaaslamofficial@gmail.com

Your PaisaBol data is stored only on your phone. We operate no server and hold no copy, so there is nothing to request from us — deleting it is something you do on the device, and it takes a few seconds.

Deleting your data is permanent. We cannot restore it. Export a backup first if you want to keep a copy.

Option 1 — Erase everything, keep the app installed

Open PaisaBol → Profile → Erase all data → confirm.

This deletes your transactions, budgets, goals, categories, profile and photo, and destroys the encryption key that protected them. Once the key is gone, anything left in storage cannot be decrypted by anyone.

Option 2 — Uninstall the app

Uninstalling removes the app's data from your phone: Settings → Apps → PaisaBol → Uninstall, or press and hold the app icon and choose Uninstall. Because PaisaBol has no server, uninstalling leaves nothing behind anywhere else.

Option 3 — Clear only what the app learned

Profile → Privacy & data → Clear learned suggestions. Your transactions, budgets and goals are not affected.

Deleting specific things

To deleteWhere
One transactionTransactions → tap it → Delete
A budget or goalBudgets / Goals → the delete icon on that item
A custom categoryProfile → Categories → swipe the category left → Delete
Your profile photoProfile → tap your photo → Remove
Learned suggestionsProfile → Privacy & data → Clear learned suggestions

Deleting a custom category does not delete the transactions filed under it. Those are moved to "Other" so your spending history stays intact, and the app tells you before you confirm.

Export before you delete

Once deleted, your data cannot be recovered — by you or by us. To keep a copy: Settings → Data → Export, then choose PDF or CSV.

What about data that is not on your phone?

Two things happen outside PaisaBol, and neither is ours to delete.

Voice audio. When you use voice input, your audio is sent to your phone's speech recognition service — on most Android phones, Google's — to be turned into text. PaisaBol keeps no audio. Any retention is Google's, under Google's privacy policy. You can manage that data in your Google Account: myactivity.google.com. If you would rather no audio ever left your phone, enter transactions by typing instead of speaking.

Advertising ID. Google AdMob uses your device's Advertising ID to show ads. You can reset or delete it yourself in Android Settings → Privacy → Ads.

One honest technical note

When Android deletes data from its storage files, the old bytes can remain on disk until the system compacts those files. This is how Android's storage works, not something the app can force. If you need certainty that nothing recoverable is left, uninstall and reinstall PaisaBol, or use your phone's factory reset.
